Information on the Common Compulsory Foreign Language (English) Exemption Examination

INFORMATION TEXT ON THE COMMON COMPULSORY FOREIGN LANGUAGE (ENGLISH) EXEMPTION EXAM
The Common Compulsory Foreign Language (English) Exemption Exam will be held on Friday, September 26, 2025, at 15:00, in face-to-face sessions at the Faculties or Vocational Schools where students are registered.
The exam is open to students who are newly enrolled at our University and will take the Foreign Language I and Foreign Language II courses for the first time. This right may only be used once.
Students newly enrolled in the English Language Teaching Department of Necatibey Faculty of Education are not eligible to take the exam.
Students who have transferred through horizontal or vertical transfer, as well as those currently studying in the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th years, are not eligible to take the exam.
Students of the Faculty of Theology who have successfully completed the Arabic preparatory class or have been exempted from it are eligible to take the exam.
Students taking the exam must bring one of their official identification documents (ID card, driver’s license, or passport).
The exam will consist of 40 multiple-choice questions and will last 50 minutes.
The results of the Exemption Exam will be sent to the Deanships of the respective Faculties or the Directorates of Vocational Schools; students will be able to learn their results from the student affairs offices of their faculties/vocational schools.
According to Article 17/1 of Balıkesir University Associate and Undergraduate Education and Training Regulations, in order to be exempted from the courses coded YDI 1101 and YDI 1201, students must obtain a score of at least 60 (CC) or higher.
Students who score 60 or higher will be exempted from the relevant course.
By taking the exam, each student is deemed to have accepted the rules and procedures of the examination.
