COMPULSORY COMMON FOREIGN LANGUAGE (ENGLISH) EXEMPTION EXAM
INFORMATION TEXT
The Compulsory Common Foreign Language (English) Exemption Exam will be held on Friday, September 26, 2025, at 15:00, in face-to-face sessions at the Faculties or Vocational Schools where the students are registered.
Only newly registered students who will take the courses Foreign Language I and Foreign Language II for the first time may take the exam. This right can be used only once.
Students who enrolled for the first time in the English Language Teaching Department of Necatibey Faculty of Education are not eligible to take the exam.
Students who have transferred horizontally or vertically, as well as those currently studying in the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th years, are not eligible to take the exam.
Among students of the Faculty of Theology, those who have successfully completed the Arabic preparatory class or are exempt from it may take the exam.
Students participating in the exam must have one of the following official identification documents with them: identity card, driver's license, or passport.
The exam will consist of 40 multiple-choice questions and will last 50 minutes.
The results of the Exemption Exam will be sent to the Dean’s Offices of the Faculties or Directorates of the Vocational Schools where the students are registered; students may obtain their results from their faculty/vocational school student affairs offices.
In accordance with Article 17/1 of Balıkesir University’s Associate and Bachelor’s Degree Education and Instruction Regulation, students must score at least 60 points (CC grade) or above in order to be exempt from the courses coded YDI 1101 and YDI 1201.
Students who score 60 or above in the exam will be exempt from the relevant course.
By taking the exam, every student is deemed to have accepted the procedures and principles of the exam.
