A technical field trip was organized with second-year students of the Architectural Restoration Program within the scope of the courses Museology: Exhibition and Storage I and Wall Painting and Mosaic Conservation I.

Within the scope of the Museology, Exhibition and Storage I course taught by Dr. Faculty Member Figen Erdoğdu, a technical field trip was organized to the Atatürk and Seyit Onbaşı Museum, Havran City Museum, Adramyttion Ancient City, and Antandros Ancient City.

During the visit to the Atatürk and Seyit Onbaşı Museum, students received detailed information about the museum. The Havran City Museum was also visited, where the importance of city museums in preserving regional history and transmitting the living memory of cities to future generations was emphasized. It was additionally highlighted that Ayvalık is in need of such a City Museum. Site visits and on-site examinations were conducted at Antandros Ancient City in Altınoluk and Adramyttion Ancient City in Burhaniye, where students were informed about ongoing excavations.

Within the scope of the Wall Painting and Mosaic Conservation I course taught by Lecturer Gülcan Kaba, the kalem işi (traditional painted ornamentation) decorations located in the Atatürk and Seyit Onbaşı Museum and the Havran City Museum were examined on site, and information was provided about their restoration processes. At Antandros Ancient City in Altınoluk, the Roman-period hillside villa floor mosaics and wall paintings were studied. At Adramyttion Ancient City, students received information about the cleaning processes of clay artifacts located in the excavation house.
