Ayvalık MYO Photography Club Hosted the “Make a Difference with Your Photography” Talk

Balıkesir University Ayvalık Vocational School, under the Department of Architecture and Urban Planning, organized a talk entitled “Make a Difference with Your Photography” on 20 April 2026 in the Vocational School Conference Hall. The event was organized by Lecturer Gülşah Yetgin Gözüaçık, advisor to the Photography Club.

The guest speaker was Prof. Dr. Sabriye Çelik Uğuz, a faculty member in the Department of Tourism Management at Balıkesir University Burhaniye Faculty of Applied Sciences. During the talk, Prof. Dr. Uğuz shared examples of her award-winning photographs and provided technical and artistic insights into each work. Through these examples, students gained a deeper understanding that photography is not only a technical process but also a powerful medium for expression and interpretation.

The presentation also highlighted the significance of photography in the fields of architecture and restoration, emphasizing its essential role in documenting historic structures and supporting cultural heritage conservation.

At the end of the event, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yakup Dinç, Director of Ayvalık Vocational School, presented a certificate of appreciation to Prof. Dr. Sabriye Çelik Uğuz. The guest speaker was also presented with flowers by Lecturer Gülşah Yetgin Gözüaçık, advisor to the Photography Club, in recognition of her valuable contributions.
