Ayvalık Vocational School Book Club Held Its First Meeting

The First Meeting of Balıkesir University Ayvalık Vocational School Book Club Was Held

The first meeting of the Balıkesir University Ayvalık Vocational School Book Club was held on October 14, 2025, under the guidance of Lecturer Gülşah Yetgin Gözüaçık.

During the meeting, “Kuyucaklı Yusuf”, one of the significant works of Turkish literature written by Sabahattin Ali, was examined. The discussion focused on the novel’s main theme, character analyses, language and stylistic features, as well as its reflections on the social structure of the period.

Participating students shared their evaluations of the book, creating a productive discussion environment centered on the intellectual and critical aspects of literature. The meeting was considered an event that contributes to the development of students’ reading culture, strengthens their critical thinking skills, and enhances their cultural awareness.

It was noted that the activities of the Ayvalık Vocational School Book Club will continue each month with a different literary work and will further expand with active student participation.
