Earthquake and Fire Drills Conducted at Our Vocational School
Earthquake
and fire drills were carried out at our Vocational School on 18.11.2025 to
raise awareness about potential disasters. The drills were organized under the
coordination of the Occupational Health and Safety Unit and the Civil Defense
Office, aiming to ensure that staff and students act correctly and swiftly
during an emergency.
Throughout the exercises supervised by Civil Defense Expert Hakan Bayazit
Tavşanoğlu and Occupational Health and Safety Assistant Coordinators Dilara
Özesmer and Mehmet Zeki Barış, fire extinguishing, first aid, protection, and
rescue teams—formed from the personnel of our Vocational School—actively
participated.
In the earthquake drill conducted according to the scenario, the necessary actions for staff and students were demonstrated practically. While our students were safely evacuated, the fire extinguishing section allowed teams to practice hands-on fire intervention techniques. During the drill, Civil Defense Expert Hakan Bayazit Tavşanoğlu also provided information about types of fires and effective firefighting methods. The exercise was carried out to strengthen disaster and emergency awareness and to promote preparedness among our staff and students.
