Meeting with Children with Special Needs: A Day Where Love Grows as It Is Shared
Second-year students of the Business Administration Program at Ayvalık Vocational School visited children with special needs as part of a social responsibility project within the scope of the Public Relations course, accompanied by our lecturer Gözde Nur Coşkun Kaya. This visit was more than a social responsibility activity for our students; it was a journey that touched their hearts and left deep, lasting impressions.
Our students played games with the children, painted their faces, gave small gifts, and most importantly, shared moments of excitement and joy together. Although the time spent together may not have lasted for hours, those moments were incredibly precious. Every smile and every hug showed how powerful a bond love can create—without the need for words.
Through this activity, we realized that happiness is actually very simple. It is hidden in a sincere glance, a small smile, and a game played together. The sincerity and laughter of our children with special needs changed our perspective on life and reminded us once again of the true value of love, understanding, and empathy.
As our students said goodbye to the children, they left with hearts full of emotion and deep feelings. By spending time together, they learned that the greatest gain is love—and that it grows as it is shared.
This project taught our students to look at life with greater sensitivity, to see that differences are what truly unite us, and to understand that everyone needs to be heard and understood. This experience will always hold a special place in the lives and hearts of our students.
As the administration of our Vocational School, we extend our heartfelt thanks to Lecturer Gözde Nur Coşkun Kaya for making this meaningful experience possible, and to the children who filled our hearts with their beauty and warmth.
